Dachshund Adoption Rescue and Education, Inc. (DARE) views its mission as increasing public awareness against animal cruelty and overpopulation while rescuing and re-homing displaced and unwanted dachshunds and dachshund mix dogs primarily throughout the North Central region of the state of Florida, in the Continental Unites States.
We do this by:- Rescuing and socializing abandoned, neglected, abused, orphaned and/or surrendered dachshunds and dachshund mixes by providing temporary safe shelter and medical/dental treatments as needed.
- Procuring temporary foster homes and permanent new homes for rescued dachshunds that will provide a safe and nurturing home environment.
- Ensuring no dachshund shall be adopted for the purposes of breeding or scientific/medical experimentation.
- Providing education to the public on the dachshund breed, puppy mills, and responsible pet guardianship including, but not limited to, humane animal care and spay/neuter practices.
- Displaying courtesy, respect and fellowship toward all volunteers in appreciation of services and support rendered to dachshund rescue and to promoting enhanced teamwork among all rescuers.
We all know that dachshunds are special and everyone who has ever been owned by a dachshund thinks their doxie is the most special of ALL.
So here is your chance to prove it.
Simply enter your favorite photo(s) in the DARE calendar contest and earn a featured spot in our annual calendar which is sold to benefit DARE, where every dog is a wiener!
Rules
- The contest is open to anyone.
- Photo entries do not have to be of a DARE dog, Dachshund or rescued pet, however NO humans allowed.
- We can not accept poor quality OR any copyrighted photos.
- Your photo may contain more than one pet, or you can submit a separate entry for each pet. We encourage multiple entries!
- We encourage you to submit a short story about your pet to be displayed during the voting period.
- Photos must be clear, of good quality and high resolution — 300 dpi or higher in PNG or JPG format — and no greater than 5MB. Please note: Photos taken with a mobile phone are typically not of high enough quality.
- Once entered, photos and pet stories become the property of DARE to be used for print and marketing purposes, including publication on social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and Instagram.
- Each entry requires a nonrefundable ENTRY FEE (which is a tax free donation to DARE.)
- Reserve a day spots are first come first serve. ALL reserve a day fee’s are separate from voting totals.
- We encourage you to share your entry and encourage others to vote, vote, vote!
Voting Fees
- Each vote is $1, with a $5 minimum donation.
- There is no limit to the number of votes you may cast.
- You may vote for your own photo or you may spread your votes across multiple photos.
- When you purchase your “votes” you are actually making a donation to DARE’s foster animal vetting fund, so again – these are tax-free donations!
- When you complete your transaction to purchase votes, you will receive a confirmation email which will serve as your proof of donation.
- All donations are non-refundable.
Miscellaneous
- We reserve the right to decline publication of any photograph for any reason. Should this happen, we will notify you and refund your entry fee if desired.
- DARE reserves the right to modify or clarify any of the contest rules during the term of the contest without advance notice. DARE is a 501(c)(3) organization.
- Donations aka entries are tax deductible.
- All donations are non-refundable.
- DARE reserves the right to use any photos submitted for marketing purposes.
- Due to the limitations of the computer tabulating system, there can be up to a 15-minute delay between when a donation is received/recorded and when it is reflected in the leaderboard.
- The leaderboard results are official.
