Astérix is adept at communication between humans and animals. He knows how to get into humans' heads and correctly predict their moves. For instance, when it's time to go to the vet (before his carrier is taken from the shelf), he prepares himself by hiding in some small space not accessible to humans. When someone comes calling, he is on guard at the door of his condo even before they knock. He knows how humans act and react and could be a great help to Earl Grey. Currently, he is watching and studying the developments of Québec's Bill 54, which proposes to recognize animals as sentient beings. He feels that it's about time this is done and wonders why legislators could possibly, even remotely, think otherwise. Given his skills, Astérix would make a great human-animal communicator. Oh, and, he has nice fur.
