Rules

• Photos of parrots are accepted. Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from a Refuge for Saving the Wildlife to be eligible to enter the contest. Your parrot need not be a shelter animal to qualify.

• Your photo may contain more than one parrot. People, dogs, and cats are not allowed in the photos, only parrots.

• All pictures of parrots outside must have the parrot in a flight harness.

• Any photograph that includes content that is deemed inappropriate, indecent, or obscene, as determined by the staff at A Refuge for Saving the Wildlife in their sole discretion, will be removed from the contest with no opportunity for a refund.

• Photographs may not be altered (other than minor color, contrast, or sharpness adjustments). Photographs may not be embellished with text or art.

• All photos must be uploaded; we cannot accept printed photos.

• Photos must be high resolution, JPEG format, for printing purposes. In most cases, pictures taken with a mobile phone are NOT high enough resolution.

• Once entered, photos become the property of a Refuge for Saving the Wildlife to be used for print and marketing purposes.

• You may enter as many photos as you wish – limited to one entry per parrot.

• By submitting your photo, you warrant that the photograph is original, that you are the sole owner and copyright holder of that photograph, and that you have not granted exclusive rights of that photograph to any other person or entity. If you submit an entry that is copyrighted by another individual, you are responsible for any legal action the copyright holder takes against you.

• If the picture is blurry, out of focus, or pixilated on your viewing device, it will be even worse when printed. If for some reason the winning photos are not high-resolution digital files, a Refuge for Saving the Wildlife will work with the winner(s) to obtain a photo that meets requirements. We reserve the right to refuse images that do not meet minimum requirements and specifications. All submitted photos are subject to review by A Refuge for Saving the Wildlife in order to meet minimum photo requirements and guidelines.

• Entries that do not meet all guidelines will not be permitted and any donations related to those submissions will not be refunded.

Rescue the Birds 2017 Calendar Photo Contest is open to all legal U.S. residents who are at least eighteen (18) years of age. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations. Void where prohibited or restricted by law or regulations. 

The submission period starts June 5, 20126 at 8:00 AM CST and ends on June 25, 2016 at 9:00 CST. The voting period starts June 5, 20126 at 8:00 AM CST and ends on June 25, 2016 at 9:00 CST.

You can enter online by visiting www.gogophotocontest.com/rescuethebids and following the directions provided to complete the entry information, and submit. Submissions are accepted during the Submission Period only. There is a $5 entry fee to enter your parrot in the contest. Only pictures of parrots may be submitted.
 Each $1 donation counts as one (1) vote. When you donate to vote, you will receive a "bank" of votes for the amount of your donation (e.g., $5 donation equals 5 votes). These votes then need to be applied to the entries you wish to vote for. You can place all votes on one entry or place them on multiple entries.

All donations are non-refundable. Entries and donations must be made via the online contest page.

Proceeds from this event will go to caring for the homeless parrots in our care until we find them a forever home. We encourage you to e-mail, publicize and post on social media the contest link to family and friends and encourage them to vote for your favorite contestant's photo. Votes may be cast during the Voting Period only.

The top 12 entries will be featured in our Rescue the Birds 2017 Calendar.

Winners will be determined by public voting. The entrant with the most votes when public voting ends on June 25, 2016 at 9 p.m. CST will be the Grand Prize winner. Entrants with the second and third highest number of votes will be the Runner-Up Prize winners. Winners will be notified by e-mail by July 9, 2016, and will be given instructions on how to claim their prize. Odds of winning depend on the number of votes each entrant receives.
