Rules

To Enter:

You must submit a photo of your pet and include:
1. Name of animal
2. Animal's age
3. Your Name
4. Your city and state
5. Your email address
6. Your phone number
People are not allowed in your photo, only pets.
All photos must be in color.
All entries must be the original work of the entrant. You must own the copyright to the photograph.
Photos of dogs, cats, small mammals, horses, birds, reptiles and others are accepted. Your pet does not have to be adopted from SCCA to be eligible to enter this contest!
All photos must be uploaded though the website. Sorry, no hard copies.
Entries can be submitted online before 11:59 PM August 17, 2015, Arizona Time.
Photos need to be at least 300 dpi, landscape format preferred.
Each entry is $35, with $20 of each entry being a tax deductible donation. Each entry fee provides one 2016 SCCA Pet Star calendar. Entrants should receive their calendars by November 2015.
Once entered, photos become the property of Second Chance Center for Animals (SCCA) to be used for print and marketing purposes.
SCCA reserves the right to modify or clarify any of the contest rules during the term of the contest.

Votes:

We urge you to share your entry and encourage others to vote, vote, vote!
When commenced, votes are $1 each, with a minimum donation of $5 for five votes. The top 12 entries with the most cumulative votes will be featured in our 2016 calendar!
All votes are tax deductible. Yes, you can vote for your own pet's photo (and as many times as you and your friends and family want!)
Votes for entries can be submitted online till August 30^th at 9:00 PM Arizona time.
All participants who receive 200 or more votes for their photo will receive two additional calendars by mail.
All proceeds from votes will help us to provide shelter and care for the homeless animals at Second Chance Center for Animals.

Prizes:

Judges Choice: An original 12"x12" Connie Townsend custom oil painting of the winning pet entrant! The Judges Choice Prize will be awarded by a panel of Judges choosing from entrants in the top 100 vote positions at the contest ending! Everyone has a chance to win this prize!
Grand Prize: The Entrant with the most votes will be featured on the front cover of SCCA's 2016 Calendar – "Pet Stars of 2016".
Top 12: Each of the top 12 entrants will receive a photo session with a professional photographer and be featured on a month in the "Pet Stars of 2016" calendar. These winning entrants will also receive an 8"x10" photo print from their photography session. Photo selection will be determined by Second Chance Center for Animals.
Weekly Winners: Starting July 26^th, a Weekly prize will be awarded for the most new votes in a given week! 6 opportunities to win. Votes will be tabulated each week based on the number of new votes received as of 9:00 PM each Sunday during the contest. Keep checking the contest website to find out what prizes are being offered each week and where your pet stands!
200+ Votes: If any contestant earns 200 or more votes, they will automatically get their photo in a reserved calendar date spot in our 2016 Pet Star calendar. Choice of date may be available at a first come, first served basis.
