Your Pet's Story
Poptart was rescued from Jacksonville Animal Services and Protective Care in August 2020. We had gone to look at a couple of dogs (fortunately for Poptart they didn’t work out). When the volunteer asked if there were any other animals we’d like to see my fiancé asked to see the little “colorful” kitty. She clapped her hands and went to wrap her up and bring her in. She handed Poptart to me and she immediately started purring and nestled her head against my chest. I asked my fiancé to hold her too, seeing he hadn’t had any experience with cats. His heart absolutely melted when he heard and felt her little purrs. The volunteer took her back so we could fill out the paperwork to make her ours. The entire time we were at the desk we could hear Poptart bellowing. I told my fiancé to go “talk” to her and she immediately settled down and started purring and reaching for him through the cage. She’s been our little shadow ever since.
