A little about me...
In September 2020, Piper found herself in a shelter after her person passed away. It was a traumatic experience for her and she went into shutdown mode. They didn’t think that she was going to make it in the shelter so the manager of the shelter took her home and cared for her, then reached out to A Better English Setter Rescue. Through the loving care of her foster family, she regained her confidence and on October 4th we adopted her. To this day, she still has separation anxiety, even if we’re home with her, but she can’t see us, she will bark nonstop.
Unfortunately, she has developed health issues that were undetected at the time and suffers from severe hip dysplasia and elbow dysplasia. She was just diagnosed recently with thyroid issues and now suffers from CCL or leg issues that requires surgery, that hasn’t been determined yet how extensive.
She’s a hot mess, but her love of life and us, gives us joy and hope for a better tomorrow for her.
