A little about me...
Ruffin was picked up as an emaciated stray in eastern NC during 2018. He was fortunate to wind up in a shelter where the staff and volunteers worked diligently to get him into a rescue. ABESR pulled him and we applied to foster him. We fostered for about 2.5 seconds before becoming foster failures.
Ruffin is an Honorary Setter and it turns out that he is a Great Pyrenees mix with a little English Cocker Spaniel, Chow, Husky, and who knows what else!
Although he does not have a smidgen of English Setter DNA, he is still an ambassador for ABESR. Wherever he goes, people want to know his breed and we always make sure to tell them he is an Honorary Setter from ABESR.
These days he guards the yard, announces all package deliveries and enjoys greeting his neighbors during his daily walks. He shares his home with an adopted tricolor pointer that is technically a Calico cat.
