A little about me...
Jack was surrendered in Alabama by the owner, who was diagnosed with cancer and could no longr hunt or care for his dogs. I am a transport volunteer in Florida and had an opportunity to meet a couple of setters. I fell in love with the breed and my husband and I decided to foster, not knowing all the traits of this breed and what to expect. Jack found his way to us thru A&B and immediately showed us that he was not only a young man with no training and no idea of how to behave in a home, but also quite a prey driven creature, escaping numerous times and giving us many stressful moments. I was ready to give up, but my husband insisted that we have patience and get him some training. Nine months later, my husband died unexpectantly, leaving me and Jack to work alone. It was as if a new dog arrived and Jack suddenly became calm, happy and very eager to please me. He's my constant companion, never leaving my side, even on our morning runs in the parks. The last wonderful gift from my Johnny.
