My dog Echo Electric is a six-year-old beagle-cocker spaniel mix with lots of personality. She is incredibly talkative, deeply obsessed with cheese, and somehow still hasn’t managed to catch a single squirrel despite trying every single day. Her custody is lovingly split between me and her grandparents, which basically means she lives a spoiled double life full of attention and treats.

Echo’s favorite color is purple, her favorite show is Paw Patrol, and she fully believes every conversation in the house should involve her commentary.

She came from an Amish puppy mill farm in Pennsylvania, and I often think about how different her life could have been. Instead, she ended up with us, and we’re the lucky ones for it. She has brought so much joy, comfort, laughter, and chaos into our lives. Even on difficult days, Echo has a way of making everything feel lighter.
