Pet's Story
After a long tenure at Coldstream Animal Aid, Pixie joined our family 2 weeks ago and she has (gently) head-butted her way into our hearts. Pixie has staked her claim on my husband’s beanbag, in which she enjoys the odd bit of feline yoga as this photo shows.
Pixie was a sick little girl when she arrived at Coldstream, with much sun damage to her ears from a life outdoors. Her ears are now a little shorter, following much vet care and much more love from the Coldstream team and her foster family, who nursed her back to health after her surgery.
6 year old Pixie patiently waited for her forever people at Coldstream for a long time, while many of her friends around her moved in and moved out to their forever homes. On July 1st this year, we visited Coldstream in search of a new 4-legged friend, and my heart melted when I saw precious, gentle Pixie in her pen. She was shy, but gradually warmed to us, giving us gentle head-butts as we patted her. We returned 6 days later to adopt our Pixie, and she has settled into our family well. She loves a head pat, loves a chin scratch even more, and when not doing her feline yoga she enjoys showing her tennis ball and plush toys who’s boss. We love our Pixie, and thank Coldstream Animal Aid for trusting us to take their darling home and look after her.
