2027 Calendar Contest

Welcome to Animal House Shelter's Annual Online Calendar Photo Contest!

The 2027 calendar is an especially meaningful edition as we celebrate Animal House Shelter’s 25th Anniversary! Since opening in 2002, AHS has helped more than 80,000 animals find care and compassion! We’re proud to mark this milestone and are excited to showcase all the wonderful entries in this year’s calendar. Thank you for being a part of AHS!

This fundraiser is both an exciting way to celebrate our animal companions and support Animal House Shelter's mission to rescue all breeds of dogs and cats! Photos submissions and votes require a tax-deductible donation. Photo entry and voting will take place until midnight (11:59 PM Central Time) on Sunday, November 1, 2026. You can click on the RULES and PRIZES tabs for more information.

Reserve a Day to Honor Your Pet

Want a guaranteed spot in the calendar? Reserve a day to honor your pet. Your pet's photo will appear on the day of your choice. This could be his or her birthday, adoption day, or some other day that is special! Each reserved day requires a $50 donation. Days are available on a first come, first serve basis.

Pre-Order Your Calendar

Calendars can be pre-ordered for $25 for pick up at the shelter or $30 with shipping! Pre-ordered calendars will be available for both pick up and shipping early December!

Calendars can be purchased after the pre-order deadline on our website www.animalhouseshelter.com or at the shelter! Limited supplies will be available!

Business card sized, full color ad - $200
Banner sized, full color ad (2x business card size) - $375
Choice of month on a first-come, first serve basis
Artwork and payment must be received by November 1st, 2026.

Rules

About the Contest

Photos can be submitted beginning 12:00 AM (Central Time) on Saturday, August 1, 2026 until midnight (11:59 PM Central Time) on Sunday, November 1, 2026.
The donation amount required to submit a photo into the contest is $10.00. Entries are unlimited.
Each vote is $2.00. Votes are unlimited. You will be able to share your photo with friends and family (and strangers too if you'd like) to allow them to vote.
The top 13 photos with the most votes at the close of the contest ( midnight (11:59 PM Central Time) on Sunday, November 1, 2026) will win a spot in our 2027 calendar! The top vote-getting photo will be featured on the calendar's cover!
Want to guarantee your pet's photo makes it in the calendar? You can reserve a calendar day for $50 and your pet's photo will be included there! What a great way to honor your companion and support Animal House Shelter.

Photo Eligibility

Photos of companion animals only (no wild animals or photos including people will be accepted). Since we love all animals, the contest is not restricted to cats and dogs, nor is it restricted to animals adopted from Animal House Shelter. All animal lovers can join in the fun!
Multiple animals can be in a single photo.
Please be sure to submit a clear photo. If you are a winner and your photo does not meet resolution standards necessary for print, we will ask you to submit another photo of your pet.
Black and white photos are acceptable.
If your photo was taken by a professional or commercial photographer, you must send a signed copyright release to events@animalhouseshelter.com.
All animals must be depicted in a humane manner. Any photo deemed inappropriate by Animal House Shelter will be removed without reimbursement of the entry fee.

Additional Information

All photos submitted become the property of Animal House Shelter and may be used and/or altered for the 2027 calendar or for other promotional and/or fundraising efforts relating to the calendar contest.
If a winning photo is deemed inappropriate by Animal House Shelter, Animal House Shelter reserves the right to replace the photo with another eligible photo to be included in the calendar.
Animal House Shelter reserves the right to alter contest rules if necessary.

Are you a local restaurant who is interested in placing a tear-off ad in our calendar? Ad spaces are available for $200 for a business card-sized ad and $375 for a double business card size.
