Artist Statement
I went to Florida for proton therapy in Jan – March 2019, as the UK was only just starting to do it.

At the proton centre in Jacksonville, they had an art table, so every day I did art and craft as well as having treatment.

I was glad there were fun things to do, as well as radiotherapy, which helped me. I’ve carried on doing lots of art and craft at home.
Last year we went to Camp Sunshine in Maine in July, where I met some special friends, and did lots of activities including art.
Unfortunately because of coronavirus, it is not happening this summer.

My favourite mediums are sewing and felting, I got a sewing machine for my 7th birthday, and love making animals.

My name is Lila Everest, I am now 7 years old and live in Brighton UK. I was diagnosed with a Craniopharyngioma in November 2018, and had an endoscopy straight away, which removed some of it.
