Artist Statement
My name is Avery Reyes and I am a brain tumor survivor. I think that this year can be very dark for many people in the world and especially kids that are sick. I tried using a lot of colors to express the joy and hope in my life for the future. I. liked that each type of art allowed me to express myself differently and show others the work I love doing through different medium types. I hope that this art can bring you happiness as creating this art has given me. THANK YOU!

I think that art has helped me when I feel stressed and overwhelmed and helps me calm down and have fun doing something I love. Art has also allowed me to better connect with friends and family when we make art projects!

My favorite medium for creating art is painting with oil colors. I think that painting allows me to mix up the colors and create some really interesting looking pieces
