Artist Statement
My mom wrote this song (Cranio Blues) based on our actual experiences with the brain tumor. She, my dad, and I had a lot of fun recording this song and making this video together. I hope you have just as much fun watching it!


Bio
My name is Alex Riley, I am 17 years old and I had a craniopharyngioma brain tumor diagnosed when I was eight years old. I am excited to enter the art exhibition for the Raymond A Wood Foundation because I believe that making music is a way to express my feelings about the brain tumor. I deal with all the usual craniopharyngioma problems like visual impairment, diabetes insipidus, hypothalamic obesity, etc. and even though my life is probably harder with the brain tumor problems, I know that I have also had a lot of great opportunities, thanks to craniopharyngioma. For example, I have been able to attend the Cranio picnic in Southern California, Jack’s camp, and my Make-a-Wish trip to London. I even now have Flora, my emotional support dog, that my mom helped me find.
