Artist Statement
I have danced since I was 2, graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and now teach others to dance. I was always crafty but did not start painting until right after I got my diagnosis. Dancing has always been an emotional outlet for me, but painting turned into a type of meditation, very calming and trancing. Unlike dancing, visual art is something you can keep and look at forever like a photograph and remember exactly what was happening and how you felt when it was created.

My name is Allison Nilsen. I am 25 years old and was diagnosed with a Cavernous Angioma when I was 18.
