Artist Statement (include type of art, techniques & materials used, what it means to you)
My artwork, titled ‘Garden of Thoughts’, is a digital piece that I created using a drawing tablet and art software on my computer. The artwork features a detailed and realistic human skull filled with vibrant, blooming flowers in the brain area, set against a stark black background. A few light-colored butterflies are scattered around the skull, adding to the contrast. This piece is a personal reflection on the serious topic of brain tumors. Instead of depicting something frightening, I chose to represent the condition with a symbol of beauty and hope - blooming flowers. The butterflies signify transformation and the ability to rise above difficulties. This artwork serves as a reminder that even in the face of adversity, there is always room for growth, beauty, and resilience.

Artist Bio: Tell Us Your Story
Kately was a bright and vivacious young woman, known for her infectious laughter and kind heart. She was one of my best friends. She was the kind of person who could light up a room just by being in it. But one day, life took an unexpected turn when Kately was diagnosed with a brain tumor.

Despite the shock and fear that came with the diagnosis, Kately faced her condition with remarkable courage and determination. She underwent treatments with a brave face, never losing her spirit or her ability to make others smile.

During her journey, Kately discovered a new passion - painting. She found solace in the strokes of her brush, creating beautiful artworks that reflected her inner strength and resilience. Her favorite piece was a painting of a tree in full bloom, symbolizing growth and life amidst adversity.

Kately’s journey was not an easy one, but she faced each day with grace and positivity. She believed that her condition was a part of her journey, but it did not define her. Her strength and resilience inspired everyone around her, reminding us all of the power of hope and the human spirit.

Even though Kately is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in her artwork and in the hearts of those who knew her. Her story continues to inspire and remind us that even in the face of adversity, there is always room for hope, beauty, and resilience.
