My Story
We adopted Zelda in 2012 when she was 11 months old. The first 11 months of her life had been somewhat tumultuous and had left her with fairly severe separation anxiety. Learning the extent of her anxiety proved painful at times, but we are so glad we worked through it with this sweet girl. After more than two years of consistency and trust-building, and a fair amount of daycare and doggie anti-anxiety meds, it all seemed to click for Zelda—we weren't going to leave her. In the years since, we've gotten to experience her full personality. She truly is a princess—always looking for the most comfortable spot and very insistent for attention. When her doggo baby brother Wiley joined the family in 2015, Zelda gained a best friend and has become even more at ease in her life. Though the journey hasn't always been smooth, we wouldn't trade our sweet "Puz" for anything in the world.
