My Story
Our own dog Kaya came to us scared and anxious but very playful. She's not the best people dog, but she is an amazing dog dog. Tony, laying down here, came to us as a frightened foster, afraid even of dust and shadows. Kaya took it upon herself to watch over him, play with him, entertain him, and show him that humans are kind, caring, and can be trusted. Here, she's watching out the door to the yard, ready to take on any squirrel or chipmunk that might bother Tony. In a short time Tony blossomed and got adopted, largely due to Kaya's extraordinary ability to understand dogs and get them to trust her. Kaya is of course still with us, teaching us to be kind and silly every day.
