My Story
I was supposed to foster Bryson for a weekend and here we are...a year later. I'm a big hiker/backpacker and enjoy my time outdoors but I also suffer from crippling depression as well as chronic pain. Bryson came into my life and I had no idea how to fuel his enormous amount of energy for the weekend I was fostering him, so I did what I knew best and I took him on a hike. He was so calm, responsive, and loyal to me even though we had only known each other for 6 hours. We've hiked hundreds of miles together now in WNC. When my depression or pain makes it hard to get out of bed, he is my main motivation to try my hardest to get up and move. And on the days where I simply can't, he is right next to me to cuddle with and make me laugh.

As someone who has volunteered at multiple shelters, I know how valuable these fundraisers can be to help make sure the homeless animals are taken care of while they search for their furever home. I hope Bryson and I can help raise money to help future animals because I know how much he means to me and I hope anyone on the search for a new friend can find a companion like him.
