My Story
Marcus is a rescue that I adopted from Juliet’s House in Greensboro, NC. His story is that he came from a hoarding situation with over 30 dogs living in the home. He had been with 2 foster moms before I adopted him and he did not find a home because he was skiddish. I brought him home with me to Asheville, after Thanksgiving of 2017. We have been through A LOT! I slipped on some ice and fell, which scared him, after only having him for 2 weeks. He was missing for 3 days and I found him about 2 miles away, thanks to a neighbor that saw him running across the main road. Then in January, he had trouble breathing and I had to take him to an emergency vet late on a Saturday night. It’s believed that he swallowed something that cut his throat and the inflammation from the bacteria caused his throat to close. Thousands of dollars later, he survived and I am amazed by his resiliency! He had to have a tracheotomy so that he could breathe until the swelling went down, thanks to steroids and antibiotics. He stayed at the vet for 2+ days. Things have been great ever since and I am so grateful for his love, as I’m sure he is mine. He’s a good boy and he’s becoming more social every day.
