My Story
Harlo is my name....that is without a T, thank you very much!! I was named after my mom's two 20yr old kitties (Harmony and Lotus) who passed away before I was adopted. After losing Harmony and Lotus within a year of each other and being kitty-less (which is just NOT ok), mom & dad went to the shelter and emptied three cages that day by adopting me, Dexter and Snickers. We weren't related but became family anyway. The shelter we came from was overflowing that day and I was a scrawny teenager with a wonky, ripped ear; Dexter was terrified and just stared; and Snickers had been surrendered that day and was on the top level cage. They were only going to adopt two, but Snickers kept reaching out of the cage to grab mom's hair. Once she took him out of the cage his whole body was shaking, but he seemed to crave the cuddles even though it didn't stop the shaking. How could he be left behind? Even I was hoping she would take him too. Snickers was an adult kitty who ruled the household with an iron paw and mischievous catitude. We didn't know he had a bad heart and would only live to be 5yrs old or we would have treasured every day even more. He loved to annoy me, but now I just miss him waiting around the corner to pounce. Dexter is a mama's boy and we call him the Velcro kitty. I make fun of him, but I still love him (don't tell him) and sometimes curl up with him and groom his ears. Me....I am just furry and fabulous, but really I just want other kitties and doggies to find a family to love like I did. If you can spare just a few dollars to help the homeless ones, I would be purrever grateful. Yours for the animals, Harlo
