My Story
Ruby was listed as "urgent" at an out-of-state kill shelter. A shelter volunteer said she went into deep depression after the dog she was surrender with was adopted. Ruby was left behind, cowered in her pen, and had a few cuts and scars from getting jumped by other animals in the shelter. It took a few weeks for her to get comfortable, and get over her fear of hardwoods, and carpets, and mini-blinds, and doorbells. Then one day she was brave enough to come up the stairs by herself, managed to jump on my bed, and that's pretty much where she's spent the last 6 years. She now loves to snuggle with the kids, Netflix and chill. Her favorite thing is to pile on the couch with her people, and despite having the energy of a marshmallow, will indulge me for a brief daily walk to the mailbox, though she will sometimes sit down halfway back waiting for me to pick her up. She has given our family much needed love and laughter, and if we can raise a little money for other shelter pets like her, I'm sure it would make her little bulldog nubby wag. Thanks for reading her story!
