My Story
Our first ever Siamese cat passed and it was clear our family needed a Siamese in our home. So I started to search online and found this single photo of a cat looking over a caretaker’s shoulder, white paws perfectly placed and big ears sticking up, basically calling “Hey, Check me out!” She was simply irresistible. I called the shelter, Kaleigh’s Haven, and found out she was still there. So, we packed up the cat carrier and headed to SCOTTSBORO, ALABAMA! Yep, we drove from Asheville to Scottsboro, AL to adopt a cat we’d never met. Best. Daytrip. Ever. Miss Sunglasses, as she was named, turned out to be pure personality but the name just didn’t fit completely, so we came up with Hazelnut: Hazel for her sweet lap cat self, and Nut for her, well, nutty self. She’s expert at figure eights, taking corners at highspeed, talking, and playing fetch. She also loves walks on a leash and leaf piles! She really is one of those who everyone falls for. One more example that Rescues Rock!
