My Story
Chewbacca came into my life under rather sad circumstances. One of my best friends from high school, Heather, that I had known since I was a little girl, died tragically and suddenly about four and a half years ago. But right before she died, she had found a lady that had these puppies that were a cross between a shitzu and a toy poodle. Also known as a shih poo. I remember when she got him, she posted pictures of him next to an heirloom tomato and the tomato was bigger than he was. Although a tiny one, due to all of his hair, she fittingly named him Chewbacca. Sadly, shortly after she got him is when she passed away. I was not looking for a dog but he needed a new home, so I thought what a wonderful gift to have her puppy and a lasting memory of her with me. He has proven to be quite the character. Full of personality and very intelligent. He has been raised with four cats, so sometimes I think he thinks he's a cat. He is strictly a mama's boy and prefers no one but his mama. At a mere 5lb, I carry him around in a baby carrier and I take him just about every where I go. People have actually mistaken him for a stuffed animal that I'm carrying around. He gets lots of attention everywhere we go due to his adorable cuteness and his very small size. He is a spoiled baby and acts like such, but also has an old man living inside him and grumpy at times. So we call him grumpy old man baby. And as you can see from the photo, he is a straight Wookie. Something between a Chewbacca and an ewok, but when he has his summer cut and his hair is all shaved, he looks like a completely different dog. He is my little baby and a wonderful memory of a long time friend. I'm so grateful he found his way into my life and that my friend left me such a wonderful gift.
