My Story
Our precious baby, Noelle, was rescued about Christmas Eve six years ago by the AHS. She was even featured on our ABC tv news station here in Asheville because her story was so heartbreaking. She was found with a small rope tied and completely cutting off her blood supply on her right front wrist.
She was emaciated and had mostly chewed off her paw trying to survive. Long story short, our brave little fighter has more than just survived, she thrives!
Her leg had to be amputated up to her shoulder and she has almost tripled her weight from 2-3 pounds to a perfectly healthy 8.4 pounds. She lost most of her teeth gnawing through the rope and has since lost the remaining three or four teeth. She eats several of her bowls of customized meals every day and asks for her bowls around the clock if they aren’t on her placemat. She eats turkey and giblets mashed up with pumpkin and made into soup with her homemade chicken soup. Noelle was entrusted to us a couple of months after her rescue and recovery with Katherine Shenar and we feel honored to have been chosen to be her parents. We love this wonderful, precious baby more every day! The three of us celebrated her adoption of five years ago at the beginning of this year and not only is she the most beautiful little girl on the outside; she is so sweet, loving, humble and grateful on the inside. We are honored to be her parents.
