My Story
My name is Rosy. I am 5 months old. I was rescued by the great people at the Asheville Humane Society along with three of my siblings. I don't know how I got here, but I sure am glad I did. Shortly after I was rescued, I was adopted by my humans, Amy and Dave. Though I miss my siblings, I now have an amazing big brother named Bruno. He's an 8 year-old English mastiff and he weighs 183 lbs - that's almost 5 times as big as me. Mommy says she's not really sure what breed I am, but I think the "Eddie Muenster" markings on my head mean that one of my parents must have been a shepherd. Mommy is going to send in my DNA (whatever that is) to see if she can find out what I am. But, of course, she reminds me that she loves me no matter what.
My humans bring me everywhere - we go hiking together and play in the park. They let me come to restaurants and breweries with them, even when they have to sit outside in the cold so I can come with them. I've even run into one of my brothers at the Biltmore! Mommy buys me so many toys and bones, but my favorite toy is my rubber chicken. It squawks when I chew it and wakes my big brother up from his many naps. My favorite thing to do though is to cuddle up close to Bruno for a good sleep.
I have made so many new friends in Asheville. I'm particularly fond of the four-legged ones and the small humans. And, now, Mommy is taking me to training so I can be a good citizen. I'm doing pretty good in school, but sometimes I can't help myself and jump up on people who want to love on me. And, frankly, I don't understand how Mommy and Daddy expect me to control myself around those rolls of toilet paper they hide under the sink or those shoes they leave lying around! Mommy says that once I learn my lessons, maybe I can learn to be a therapy dog so I can meet even more new friends.
I'm glad I found my forever family so young. My big brother tells me he had two families before he found our humans. But, now we are one big happy family!
