Since 1906 – Over a Century of Caring
Founded in 1906, the Associated Humane Societies is the largest animal sheltering organization in New Jersey. For more than a century, we have been rescuing, protecting, and caring for abused, abandoned, neglected, and homeless animals. Last year alone, we rescued 12,186 animals, reunited more than 1,150 lost pets with their families, and helped 4,914 animals find loving homes.
Your support helps make every rescue story possible. From emergency medical care and daily meals to safe shelter, enrichment, and lifelong sanctuary at Popcorn Park Animal Refuge, every dollar provides hope and a second chance for animals who have nowhere else to turn.
Our Mission
Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
