Mitzi is a rescue dog, a Maremma Border Collie x. I understand she was going to be shot by her first owner, but she was lucky to be surrendered to a local rescue group instead. Mitzi had a few issues with separation anxiety when I adopted her, so training has been very important. We still attend a local obedience club on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s. This year I looked at how I could include Mitzi in as much of my day as possible, as it was hard to get out of the house without her. I am very proud to say that Mitzi is now a loving volunteer with Delta Therapy Dogs. We attend an aged care home fortnightly, and occasionally do other visits to facilities including a hospital emergency department for staff. Mitzi simply loves everyone.
