Who can look at this face and not fall in love?

Just a little bit about me! I am a 12-year-old Labrador/Boykin Spaniel mix. I am a happy healthy boy, who enjoys chasing tennis balls. I might be old and gray, but I’m still fast!

Aside from being one of the sweetest souls on Earth, I also represent some other canine subcultures.

First, I am a senior dog, and what warms the heart more than a good ole' gray-faced dog? Since I was a puppy, I have had a wonderful life with a family, who adores me, but not all senior dogs are as fortunate. Every day senior dogs are dropped off at shelters just because they are old.

Secondly, I am a black dog. Statistically, black dogs in shelters spend more days being overlooked by potential adopters than any other color. They just sit there waiting to be chosen. It is called "black dog syndrome." This year National Black Dog Day is October 1st, and it is a day to bring awareness to this strange phenomenon.

So besides being awesome, these are some of the reasons why I would appreciate your vote! I LOVE my life and of course my tennis balls, but I also represent other dog groups who are like me but have not had a life as fortunate as mine. I hope sharing my story will help other dogs like me find their forever home where they can be loved too!
