6th Annual Calendar Photo Contest

Welcome to our 6^th Annual Barks and Meows Rescue Photo Fundraiser Contest!

Here is your chance to have your showcase your fur baby like never before. How would you love to see them featured in our calendar, so others can see just how cute they really are? Instead of 15 minutes of fame, your fur kids will have a chance to have 365 days of fame!!

Well all you have to do to enter, is to take submit a photo of your pet that you believe is just the most adorable one you have ever seen. Be sure to add a little blurb letting people know why they should vote for your pet to be featured in the 2026 Barks and Meows Rescue Calendar Photo Fundraiser. The contest, should you choose to enter, starts at noon (12:00 PM Eastern Time) on Monday, July 28, 2025 and ends at midnight (11:59:59 PM Eastern Time) on Friday, October 31, 2025. The cost to enter is $5.00 per photo. In order to vote for your photo, the cost to the public will be $1.00 per vote. This is where sharing with your family, colleagues and friends will come in handy. Check out our prizes and rules:

The 2026 Barks and Meows Rescue Photo Fundraiser Contest will end at midnight (11:59:59 PM Eastern Time) on Friday, October 31, 2025. We will reveal the winners on November 1.

First Prize is your pet’s photo featured on the cover of our 2026 and a half hour photo session with Clara Hill Photography in London. Also included are 1 pet feeding mat, 1 medium Reversible sun hat that is blue with dogs and eagles, 1 large Snuffle mat and 1 pair of customized heart/love Denim shorts, made to fit the winner. A handmade Denim Purse will be included (made and donated by Maid for Mutts). 1 extra large Travel Mug with Straw, 2 metal dog and cat wall hangings for you bathroom (donated by Heavenly Hills Animal Sanctuary)
Second Prize is your pet’s photo featured on any month of your choice on our 2026 Calendar, and a brand new Wicked Album and a brand new” Friends game” (donated by Adopter Karen Cook). 1 small Dog Harness Kit. 1 large and 1 medium metal Doggie Treat Canisters plus 1 doggie gift basket with an array of treats, leashes, bowl etc (Donated by Heavenly Hills Animal Sanctuary).
Third Prize is a free mini session photo shoot with the wonderful Melissa Caron, of Melissa Caron Photography, to take place at one of Melissa’s pre-determined setups in Chatham, Ontario. This certificate is open for the year and you will need to book it a.s.a.p. as the spots fill up fast. Also a bathroom set including two brand new perfumes and two heart necklaces (donated by Adopter Karen Cook). 2 large Animal Angels Mugs and 2 pouches of Blue Wildness Cat Treats (Donated by Heavenly Hills Animal Sanctuary).
Fourth Prize is a photo shoot with the fabulous Erin Woodgate of Woodgate photography in the London area. Also a new manicure set with bag, an ID bracelet and a mug with a car air freshner. As well, a 3d printed moveable bear where you can push the heart in and out (donated by Adopter Karen Cook). 1 large Animal Angel Mug and 1 Cozy Cocoa Kit (Donated by Heavenly Hills Animal Sanctuary).
Fifth Prize is $75 Mystery Gift Box with all handmade, award winning skincare, including, cold process soaps, 6 flavoured lip balms, and other local products in a gorgeous gift basket (made and donated by Juliet & Co). Also included will be a dog nightlight that says Home is Where my Dog Is and brand new dog training collar (Donated by Adopter Karen Cook).
Sixth Prize is 30 inch crate with cover and bed. Also a fabulous wooden two tier cat house for indoor outdoor use (donated by Nancy Dunlop).
Seventh Prize is an array of soaps and creams (Donated by Adopter Karen Cook). Also 1 eye pack/heating pack with flax, lavender and sage (Donated and made by Maid for Mutts).
Eight Price is Two pairs of flip-flops, two charms, two beautiful Jewellery Boxes and a brand new set of slippers (Donated by Adopter Karen Cook)
Ninth Prize is a Pet bed 22 ½ x 23 inches and 4 place mats (Donated and made by Maid for Mutts).
Tenth Prize are 4 Sesame Street Pillowcases, 6 kleenex pouches for purse and 4 bookmarks (Donated and made by Maid for Mutts).
Eleventh Prize area pair of Sweater mitts, women’s medium. Also and eye pack/heating pack with flax, lavender and sage (Donated and made by Maid for Mutts).
Twelfth Prize are 3 reversible small pet bandanas, 4medium reversible pet bandanas, 3 large reversible pet bandanas (Donated and made by Maid for Mutts).
Thirteenth Prize are a Pet Flower for female dog for med/large breed and 2 bow times med/large size dog (Donated and made by Maid for Mutts). 1 Doggie Travel Mug (Donated by Heavenly Hills Animal Sanctuary).

All Entries

All photo entries with 10 votes or more are GUARANTEED inclusion in the calendar on the collage page.

Rules

All ages of dog and cat photos accepted
Participants must be Ontario residents. Voters are welcome from outside of Ontario and Canada
Donations made in support of an animal are valued at one vote for every $1.00 donated.
The cost to submit a photo to the contest is $5.00 per entry.
Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from Barks and Meows Rescue. They must be a Rescue dog or cat, having come from a Shelter, Rescue Organization or Owner Surrender
Photos may be of more than one pet, if they are all Rescues
Photos must not have any people or wildlife in them
Photos must be high-resolution (300 dpi or greater) to be considered for a month spread in the calendar
Photos must be in landscape(horizontal) format to be considered for a month spread in the calendar
Photos must be in full-color, no heavily filtered , edited or altered photos
Photos with professional photographer watermarks will not be eligible to be included in the calendar
Photos deemed offensive, indecent or obscene by Barks and Meows Rescue, will be removed from the contest
Photos must receive at least 10 votes to be included in the 2025 calendar in some form or fashion
Contest begins noon (12:00 PM Eastern Time) on Monday, July 28, 2025.
All online photo entries must be submitted by midnight (11:59:59 PM Eastern Time) on Friday, October 31, 2025
Winners will be announced on November 1, 2025
