What Does Your Tattoo Mean to You?
I have a tattoo of a fruit bat eating a raspberry. I didn’t get it for any deep symbolic reason at the time, I just really love bats. But the more I think about it, the more it actually does mean something to me.

Bats are beautiful and misunderstood. Fruit bats especially play a huge role in keeping ecosystems healthy. They pollinate, spread seeds, and do a lot of quiet good. I’ve always felt drawn to that kind of energy. Gentle, essential, and often overlooked.

The raspberry just adds a bit of sweetness. It reminds me not to take things too seriously, and to make space for joy.

Also, when I was a kid, I loved the Silverwing series. Those books made me fall in love with bats in the first place.

So yeah, the tattoo might seem cute or random, but it feels like a little piece me.
