Baypath Humane Society started as a modest facility but has grown significantly over the years. Initially, it focused primarily on providing shelter and adoption services. As awareness and sensitivity towards animal welfare have grown, so have the scope and depth of Baypath’s services. They now include extensive behavioral and medical care, ensuring that animals are not only physically healthy but also behaviorally ready for adoption.

Founded by a small group in 1977, Baypath initially held stray animals for two days before animal control sold unclaimed ones to Harvard research labs. In 1987, volunteers built our current 1,700-square-foot facility.
