Animal Bio
Joaquin was a stray pup in San Joaquin county of California. He was rescued from a “kill” facility when he was 11 months old. It was an 8 hour drive to go get him, so the rescuer asked a friend with an ultra-light airplane to help “fetch” him. The plane landed on the rural road in front of the facility, and took off with a “sprung” Joaquin and his cellmate, both of whom handled the flight quite well.

We were told he was a Cattle Dog mix, but when we had his DNA done, he was mostly (65%) bull terrier breeds, with a smattering of Border Collie, German Shepherd, Samoyed and Boxer. He DID have 2% Australian Cattle Dog, as well as a smidge of both Great Dane AND Chihuahua!! How did THAT happen? It is fair to say he comes from a VERY long line of Noble Mutts…

Joaquin is a distinguished fellow, and friendly with everyone. He fills our life with laughs, lots of love and cozy comfort. Best dog ever!!! He remembers his difficult times, and is excited to help the BC SPCA in its mission to rescue and house dogs and other animals who have similarly fallen on hard times. Thank you all for voting for this deserving gentledog.
