About
My Father's House and SnowCap Community Charities are both nonprofit organizations serving families in need in East Multnomah County.
My Father's House is a non-government funded shelter for homeless families in Gresham Oregon. Homeless families often sleep in their cars, crash on friends' couches, or go from home to home just to survive. Many of these families have no idea of how to obtain or keep a job. The residents of My Father's House attend educational classes, seek jobs and meet with a case manager to set realistic goals for themselves. Residents are required to not only seek a job but to save money towards future housing. Our mission is for adults in our program to become self-sufficient. The success of our program relies on three values, Relationships, Responsibility and Accountability.
SnowCap is a philanthropic organization created to provide food, clothing, advocacy and other services to the poor. All of them need HOPE. As the largest provider of food assistance in the state of Oregon, we help nearly 10,000 people in need each month. Since 1967, SnowCap has made healthy, fresh foods available to those who would otherwise go without. The majority of our clients are children, the elderly, disabled and folks who struggle to make ends meet.
