About Us

Established in 2005, Big Fluffy Dog Rescue is a 501(c)3 Not-for-Profit Organization dedicated to saving large breed dogs in need. Over the years our mission has expanded, to include all types of dogs, with a mantra of "No Dog Left Behind".

Our dogs come into rescue for many different reasons. Many were abandoned at high kill shelters in the South. Some were turned in by owners who could not properly care for them and still others are failed livestock guardian dogs. Regardless of their origins, our goal for every dog is the same: a safe, happy home where the dog is a well-loved member of the family. Big Fluffy Dog Rescue has its headquarters in Nashville, Tennessee, with an active second headquarters in Windsor, Connecticut. We currently have over 700 active volunteers, spread across 31 states. In addition, at our Nashville HQ we also operate a 6000 sq. ft. kennel that is a way station for incoming dogs while they receive any needed medical care and rehabilitation before they move to a foster home or a forever home.
