My Story
Hambone arrived at A Forever Home, a local animal rescue, when he was 8 years old after his owner suddenly passed and the family could no longer care for him. He stayed in foster care until he was 10 years old, when I was casually browsing Petfinder and couldn’t stop coming back to his photo. I immediately adopted Hambone after meeting him just once, and be turned out to be my soul dog. He was right by my side through 3 apartments, 3 jobs, my first owned home, my dad’s death, and my engagement. He was the star of my social media, my ever-present shadow, our bathroom chaperone, and the funniest dog I’ve known. Hambone crossed the rainbow bridge when he was 17 in the summer of 2022, and I still think about him every day. He was adored by many; if love alone could have kept him alive, he would have been immortal.
