In their own words, how would your Pyr tell their story?
It was September 5, 2019. I thought I was going out for a potty break, but instead, Sharon introduced me to some new people and their little dog, Noodles. The people seemed nice, but Noodles seemed a bit uncomfortable with me so I let him have his space. I guess that made a good impression on the people because I was soon riding in a small car with my new people to my new home while Noodles snarled and growled at me the whole way.
My new home was great! It had a big fenced yard with lots of trees and bushes to rub on my fur. My people installed a door for me so I could go out in the yard whenever I wanted. I got to go for walks twice a day at different parks in the area and around my neighborhood. My favorite part of walks was wading in the streams and rivers. I liked to meet new dogs and I got to know some people well enough that they would look for me and Noodles to give us treats!
I gave myself a job watching over the wildlife in my yard. I let birds land on me and take tufts of my hair to build their nests. I made sure deer did not sneak in and steal my squirrels' food. I carried opossums in my mouth, unharmed, to show dad. I even tried to bring one in the house once. Best of all, I treed a bear!
I'm glad Sharon found these people for me. Even Noodles and I got to be friends. I always felt like they really cared about me. But especially now. You see, I have cancer in my bones and it keeps me from enjoying walks now. My people are taking extra special care of me. I still watch over my squirrels, my birds, my people, and even Noodles because I love them and they are mine and I am theirs forever and always.
