In their own words, what is your Pyr's inspirational advice? If you don’t want to do it—flop on the floor.
In their own words, how would your Pyr tell their story? In 2020, my family adopted me from Carolina Great Pyrenees Rescue. At the time, my parents and sister were dreaming of a big, fluffy guardian. My dad thought, “Let’s get a puppy!”—until he realized those Great Pyrenees puppies grow into… well, actual clouds with legs. That’s when Shannon introduced them to me: the perfect compromise, a pocket pyr.
When I first arrived, I didn’t know what was going on. Stairs? Terrifying. Cars? Suspicious. Men in masks or hats? Absolutely not. Other dogs? I kept my distance. I was timid, unsure, and still figuring out the world.
But my family was patient. Slowly, I warmed up to them. Then came Luka, my Cavalier King Charles Spaniel little brother. Do I love him? Absolutely. Is he still the annoying little brother who steals attention and acts like he runs the place? Also absolutely.
Now? Oh, I’m a whole new man. I strut, I prance, I pose—I know I’m handsome, and I like making sure everyone else knows it too. I’ve got so much love to give, and I dish it out generously. My favorite things? Long walks on the beach, flopping dramatically on the cold floor, and enjoying a fine plate of ice like the distinguished gentleman I am.
From timid rescue pup to confident king!
