In their own words, how would your Pyr tell their story?
Candy is my rescue name, but I’m also referred to as Maggie. I was rescued by CGPR in 2023 from a local animal shelter. I had a bum back leg and was over weight. Thanks to wonderful donors like you, CGPR was able to repair my leg through surgery. I’m as good as new now!

I love to nap! My dad says it is a good thing I’m a house dog and do not have to work in the fields with animals because I may sleep right through a coyote or hawk attack. But, I let the world know when a UPS, Amazon, or FedEx truck is within a mile of my house. None of those drivers can sneak their trucks past my window!

I also enjoy trips to the mountains, especially in the summer. It is refreshing to relax in my creek to cool off after a long hot day of napping and barking. Such, a refreshing hobby for an active dog like me.

I was living the dream life until August when my human brother decided I needed a puppy to train. Now, that silly puppy wakes me up all the time wanting to play. Can you believe the nerve of the pup? My mom says I’m the most patient, loving dog ever for all that I put up with related to the puppy. I will get him trained soon! And, then I will be back to my snooze fest.

Shredded cheese is my favorite snack, and whipped cream frozen in a Kong is a close second. I may conveniently ignore my mom when she calls me, but no matter where I am in the house I can hear the cheese drawer or the freezer open. A girl has her priorities!
