Entry Guidelines

Open to all pet lovers! Dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, birds, reptiles, are welcome.
Pets do not need to be adopted from CASPCA or reside in Albemarle County.
Entry fee: $35 per photo submission for consideration as a featured “Month” spread.
You may submit multiple entries, but each requires its own $35 fee.

Photo Requirements

Only non-wildlife companion animals are accepted.
Domestic pets only — no people in photos.
Photos may include more than one pet.
Photos must be:
- High-resolution (minimum 300 dpi)
- Full-color (no ﬁlters or heavy edits)
- Free of watermarks
Include your pet’s name, a short story (500 characters or less), and your contact info with your submission.
Offensive or inappropriate content will be disqualiﬁed.

Voting Process

Public voting will determine:
- The Calendar Cover Star
- The 12 monthly features
Each $1 donation = 1 vote
Voting opens at 6:00 AM (Eastern Time) on Thursday, September 18, 2025 and closes at 10:00 PM (Eastern Time) on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
A pet must receive at least 5 votes to be eligible for the calendar.
The pet with the most votes will be crowned our Calendar Cover Star and win a one-hour professional portrait session with UVA’s own Director of Athletics Photography, Jamie Holt.
12 pets will be selected as monthly feature pets.

Printing & Sales

Calendars will be printed and available for sale starting December 2025.
Pre-order will be available during the contest. Each calendar purchase will receive 5 bonus votes.
