Why you should vote for this non-profit
Since 1899 Directions for Youth & Families has provided services to the central Ohio community. The organization began as a home for unwed mothers and has evolved to one of the largest mental and behavioral health service organization with over 75 licensed counselors. DFYF specializes in a variety of issues including sexual abuse, delinquency, domestic violence, mental health issues, physical abuse/neglect and grief/loss. We operate two after-school/summer youth centers in disadvantaged neighborhoods providing a safe and positive environment.
During the year of the pandemic DFYF quickly evolved into telehealth, telephone and any other means available to maintain our services. Our youth centers provided virtual summer programming and then became full-time Learning extension centers supporting the Columbus City Schools. We provided academic support for virtual learning, a safe place to be as well as healthy meals for the youth and their families of this neighborhood.
Your donation will allow us the opportunity to continue our work providing counseling and prevention services to those who need at no cost removing any barriers to the help.
Directions for Youth & Families believes every child and every family deserves the opportunity to have access to services and other tools that ensure they live up to their full potential.
