Pet's Story or Bio
Chance was rescued from Morris Animal Shelter some 16 years ago and led a full life. He accompanied his owner- Pete Mattis everywhere. Where Pete went, Chance went.

Chance was known and loved by everyone who met him. For as long as the studio was open- Chance was "shop dog" for Pete Mattis' ZAKTi Movement and Therapeutic Studio in Queen Village, Philadelphia. He greeted clients, assisted with therapeutic sessions, co-coached private training sessions, and jumped in on group classes. Many times you would catch him stealing a participants mat to take a nap during a session, sprawled out while people were sweating and grunting around him.

Chance has been featured in many articles including his latest Philadelphia Inquirer article " Working Pets of Philadelphia" September 3 2019. In addition, he was also the un-official mascot for The Meredith School. Children would come to greet him daily either before or after their school day, offering him a pet, hello, or organic biscuit. The running team would delay their training run as they passed by- stopping to offer him kisses and hugs. The coach was ok with it- she joined in too.

On weekends, you would find Chance hiking in the mountains, strolling quaint towns along the Delaware, and paddle boarding in Brigantine Beach. In his later years, he would come to summer in Cape May NJ.

Chance left an indelible mark on everyone he met. Thanks to Morris Animal Refuge, Chance and Pete spent 16 glorious years together. Chance rescued Pete.
