Pet's Story or Bio
Miles was adopted from PAWS of Bremerton in May, 2015 when he was about eight weeks old. This picture was taken about a week after he moved in with us.
Miles is a bit of a miracle cat: He had a health scare in late August 2015, when he was about 5.5 months old. The cause was never fully identified, but something caused Miles's immune system to go into overdrive. He spent four days in the VCA of Silverdale's emergency animal hospital, and during that time he went into agonal breathing twice. The amazing VCA staff pulled him through both times with supplemental oxygen. We are so grateful to them for helping this little boy and us get through that time. It took several months, but Miles fully recovered, and looking at him now you'd never guess how close he came to dying.
Miles currently lives with younger (but much larger) brother-from-another-mother Gatsby, a 1.5 year old brown tabby adopted from PAWS of Bremerton this past February.
Although Miles wasn't 100 percent sure that he wanted Gatsby to move in, they are now happy to have each other: they chase each other up and down the hallway, hang out in the windows to watch birds, and take turns begging for treats.
