Pet's Story or BioI've only had Turtle Bean for 8 months, but they have been the best months. He came to me as Oleo, a sad, obese kitty who had been in and out of Seattle Humane for 4 years (yes, years!) Having asthma, funny behaviors, weight problems, and being a black kitty all worked against him, but I took one look and knew he was mine.
With love and support from family, friends, and Instagram fans (follow him at @turtle_bean_cat!), he has lost 4 pounds, his asthma has gotten better, and he knows that he is loved.
Turtle Bean has struggled, but his story isn't a sad one. Seattle Humane continued to give him a home while he struggled to find the right family for him. They even went so far as to offer him a place back, should it not work out when I adopted him. I knew when they told that to me that he would NEVER step foot in a shelter, ever again.
Even when he pees on my clothes, sits on my face, or yells at 5 am for food, I know that he feels love. He demands snuggles when my alarm goes off, when I get home from work, and after filling his belly with dinner. Turtle Bean's story is one of love, from myself, from staff and volunteers at Seattle Humane, and anyone lucky enough to cross paths with him.
Voting for Turtle Bean is voting for Seattle Humane's continued dedication to kitties like him!
