What happens when two local organizations come together to support the animals of Douglas County? The Lawrence Humane + Lawrence Beer Co. Cutest Crowler Contest!
We're bringing back the springtime pet photo contest, and this time we’ve got a fun, new spin on it. We’ll have two categories – cats and dogs – and the winning animal in each category will be featured on Lawrence Beer Co.’s Crowlers this summer, just in time for patio-hanging season!
The Cutest Crowler contest kicks off on March 16, 2022, and ends on April 15, 2022. Participation is easy – just choose your favorite picture of your dog or cat (or the one that shows off their personality best), upload it, and then spread the word to your family, friends, and coworkers, encouraging them to vote for your pet! The entry fee is $5 and each vote is just $1. Stay on top of the competition by watching the Leaderboard and encouraging your community to vote for your pal so they don’t fall behind! Not only will your dog or cat get to be featured on the LBC Crowlers, but your pet will also have their picture artistically, digitally adapted for the LBC Crowler design by a local Lawrence artist!
What’s a Crowler?
These are 32oz aluminum cans filled to order from the LBC taps like a classic growler. A seamer machine seals them up with a lid exactly like a normal can of beer. Crowlers are more environmentally friendly than glass growlers (recyclable, less impact in their creation and freight, etc), more suitable for outdoor adventures, ensure a clean container for fresh beer, and are the perfect size to bring home or to a social event!
GRAND PRIZE:
The dog and cat with the highest number of votes in their category when the contest ends will be featured together on Lawrence Beer Co.’s crowlers this summer!
Both winners’ parents will also receive:
Two complimentary registrations for Lawrence Humane’s Paw Valley Challenge event in May
A Lawrence Humane shirt
A Lawrence Beer Co. gift card valued at $25
A framed 8x10 print of their pet in the artistic style on the crowler!
Two complimentary Crowlers, filled with the beer of their choice
- Bragging rights for having the cutest pet in Douglas County!

Ready to enter your pet's photo? It's easy! Just click on the 'Sign In' button to create an account, then upload a photo and tell us your pet’s name. The hardest part is choosing which photo to use!
Once your pet's entry is submitted, be sure to share the contest link with your friends, family, and coworkers and encourage them to vote! Every $1 vote not only helps your pet win, but also supports Douglas County’s only animal shelter. So encourage everyone to vote early and vote often!
