Pet's Story or Bio
Mickey and I first met at an adoption event where I had gone to pick her up as I was going to foster her. Little did I know ; that I would meet the dog I would adopt. Even though I had four dogs at home already and was only there to foster " Mickey" for a short time as Old Dominion Humane society had just rescued Minnie (her name prior to her adoption) from the Prince Georges county shelter in Maryland. Minnie was a older girl at 9 years and had very bad teeth that smelled like someone unplugged the aquarium and left dirty water in a dirty tank.. it was HORRIBLE!! and I can't imagine the pain and discomfort she must of been in. Minnie showed her distain for everyone by growling and barking! I decided to take this little girl with rotten teeth home and try to love her and help her out as senior dogs are so easy to fall for and I had a special place in my heart for the seniors. Through the days; I became to love this little meanie whom wanted to growl and bite all the time. I took her within the week to have her teeth extracted and to see the vet where she had 10 teeth pulled including her canines and let me tell you she was a HAPPY Camper after that! Mickey as she was renamed was happy and living large.. We decided to take her into our family after about a month of thinking we were just fostering her.. You would think she had been with us for the full 9 years of her life. Mickey is 10 now and runs our home; she keeps the other 4 dogs and 6 cats in line!!! Mickey is my Rock and we go every where together! She shows people that just because a dog is older doesn't mean its life is over; there is plenty of love left in this little girl!! she's our baby!!
