Pet's Story or Bio
Meet little Lucy. This sweet girl was dropped off at the Spotyslvania Animal Shelter at the age of 13! With the help of Chrissy at ODHS I was able to pull Lucy and to bring her to my home as a foster. Nancy at Dog Krazy found out about Lucy and promptly donated food for her care.
Little Lucy was a hot mess! She had huge mats in her coat that went all the way to the skin. Her nails were so long that they were starting to curl in places and she even had mats between her pads. Her eye sight and hearing were not all that great, so to her, everyone was always sneaking up on her. She also had worms and kennel cough.
Lucy did not let this slow her down. She loved her bath, tolerated the dryer, and tried to eat the nail trimmers and the clippers that were trying to remove her mats. She devoured her new food and with the help of meds she was soon parasite and cough free. Through all this, Lucy was full of sweet kisses and followed me everywhere. She even trudged through deep snow to stay with me, she wagged her tail the whole way. All she wanted was a little love, and in return she gave you her whole heart.
This sweet girl could be a little cranky at times, but would instantly feel bad and give you a kiss. She received the nickname 'Leaf Butt' because the feathers on her backside were always picking up leaves when she went outside.
Of course my husband and myself fell in love with this sweet lady. Unfortunately she did not get the Happily Ever After she deserved. After only having her in our home for a handful of months Lucy fell ill. Nancy at Dog Krazy stepped in again and donated funds for Lucy's care. She even spoke with a fellow business owner at Foode and they donated also. Lucy even had a GoFundMe page set up by ODHS. Lucy was at CARE receiving around the clock medical care. Unfortunately she continued to decline.
Lucy was not in our lives for very long, but she will forever be in our hearts.
