We adopted Tessa at age 4 after she endured a rough few years and knew from the start it was my love affair of my lifetime. She is magical and a source of comfort and inspiration for her willing to love despite her past. She came to us frightened and not sure how to be a dog. After behavior doggie classes, I was given the best advice: “Not all dogs are supposed to jump in your lap and lick your face. Love her for who she is.” Perfect advice not only for our fur babies, but also a great suggestion for living our lives. We are better because of her. (FYI, she now gives the best kisses right on the face!)
