This is our first annual Dogs Deserve Better "Pup-arazzi" Photo Contest and the rules are simple and fun! Simply send us a high-res photo of your favorite canine fur baby being their amazing, adorable self. We will want to know their name, age, and their story. What are they like? Were they a rescue? How have they changed your life? We encourage you to promote the contest and ask your friends and family to vote for your dog. We are asking for a $5 entry donation fee to help us raise money for Dogs Deserve Better. Every dollar raised goes to helping get more dogs off of chains and into their forever homes.


First prize - $100 gift certificate to Petco and a 16"X 24" mounted fine art canvas print with your dog's photo.
Second prize - $75 gift certificate to Petco and a 26"X 26" personalized pillow with your dog's photo.
Third prize - $50 gift certificate to Petco and a 15 ounce personalized coffee mug with your dog's photo.


Dogs Deserve Better is a non-profit 501(c)3 that advocates for dogs living their lives chained, penned, abused or neglected. Our headquarters are located in Smithfield, Virginia in the former Michael Vick compound where he housed his notorious dog-fighting ring. We have transformed the home and property into a place of healing, love and rehabilitation for dogs who have been rescued from living outside on a chain or penned, as well as dogs who have been abused or abandoned. Our caregivers work tirelessly to prepare each dog for their forever home and we make sure each canine resident receives proper medical treatment, training and socialization. We also provide Hero Grants to assist individuals and non-profit rescues with the cost of routine vet care and spay/neuter and to date we have awarded over $70,000.
