Pet's Story or Bio
This is the first moment I met Ellie. Our neighbors picked her up wandering on a state highway around Richmond, VA, an hour east of us. I walked out back one morning and realized that had an unfamiliar cute puppy running around, so I went to meet her (of course) and snap a picture. Their landlord wouldn't let them keep her and we couldn't imagine her going to a shelter, so we took her into our pack (it's up to 3 dogs now). That was 5 months ago and I sincerely couldn't imagine life without her. She's an absolute joy. Within the first couple weeks, we realized/learned she was deaf and heartworm positive. Luckily, she has 2 other dogs to show her what's what. Sophie keeps Ellie in line and Linus is her "hearing-eye dog." She is always on his hip, reacting when he does. I'm getting all emotional just typing all of this out. I'm glad she found her way to our home. I know many might not be able to cope with her conditions and I hate to think of this ball of energy just languishing in a cage each day (or worse). She's our kid, and I'm fortunate to have this image of the first time we met. I didn't even realize I had this until I began flipping through photos, looking for entries.
